Buzzer Reaction Los Angeles Clippers 111 Final Recap | Box score 94 Denver Nuggets MVP: Chris Paul had 5 assists in the first four minutes of the game and continued to cruise, finishing the night with 15 points, 10 assists, 3 steals, and 0 turnovers in a tidy 28 minutes of playing time. That was … better control of the glass: Considering the Clippers have won the only two games this season in which they held a rebounding advantage, it looked promising when the team held a lead on rebounds going into the half. That lead was not sustained, but overall, there was a visibly improved effort to control the glass on the night, with the most noticeable sign of that effort shown in the Clips holding the Nuggets to only 8 offensive rebounds on the night. X factor: The Nuggets lead by one at the end of the first quarter, with 14 of their points scored in the paint. The Clippers, on the other hand, didn’t have a single point in the paint in the same period. That would change over the remainder of the game, where Los Angeles would go on to outscore Denver 28-18 in the paint over the next three quarters. — Brandon Tomyoy Tweet(s) Of The Game Great Vision By Gallinari, Greater Defense By Blake. https://t.co/24iQMdN9mA — BBALLBREAKDOWN (@bballbreakdown) November 25, 2015 H-O-R-S-E anyone? #BlakeDoingBlakeThings 📺 #PrimeTicket https://t.co/Vl6U7aTra8 — LA Clippers (@LAClippers) November 25, 2015 Jamal said the Clippers are better when they're having fun. The highlight-type plays got him and Blake loose and in rhythm — Rowan Kavner (@RowanKavner) November 25, 2015 Check Your Messages Forward Movement The sample size, small as they might be, seems to favor Wesley Johnson getting more minutes on this Clippers team. And despite only 25 minutes on the floor, the Clippers seemed to make the most of his time with the starting unit. After the game, J.J. Redick had commented on the telecast that Johnson provides much needed spacing that helps the offensive engine of this team run at its best. Considering both his ability to finish at the rim and his ability to hit the three, it’s a notion that is easy to agree with. The defensive end may be a different story though, and guarding Danilo Gallinari certainly provided difficulties for the Syracuse alum. If the better defensive options continue to show inconsistency or lack of versatility, however, it may not matter. A hot night from Jamal Crawford may very well be concealing what the switch means for the second unit. If the need is to have the best players on the floor and Johnson helps make the starting unit better than the other options, though, it’s hard to make a case that he isn’t one of the best players for this team at this given time. – Brandon Tomyoy
